Ingredients:

• 3 ripe bananas

• 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter

• 1 cup granulated sugar

• 1 egg, beaten

• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

• 1 teaspoon baking soda

• Pinch of salt

• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

• 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter and flour a 4x8-inch loaf pan.

2. In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the butter.

3. Mix in the baking soda and salt. Stir in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.

4. Mix in the cocoa powder, ensuring there are no lumps. Then stir in the flour, just until combined.

5. Fold in the chocolate chips.

6. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Bake for 60 minutes, or until a tester inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Remove from oven and cool completely on a rack. Remove the banana bread from the pan and slice to serve.

Notes:

• Use overripe bananas for a richer, sweeter taste.

• For an extra depth of flavor, replace half of the granulated sugar with brown sugar.

• Add a handful of chopped walnuts or pecans for a crunchy texture.

• If you prefer a less sweet bread, reduce the sugar to 3/4 cup.
