There’s nothing like a true southern green bean casserole around the holidays. You can’t have Thanksgiving or Christmas without one. It just wouldn’t feel the same no matter what you try and replace it with. So today I’m showing you how to make mine.
- Preheat your oven to 350F.
- Mix your milk and condensed soup together.
- Cut the ends off of your fresh green beans. And layer half of them in the bottom of the dish.
- Pour over half of the soup mix over the green beans.
- Crush half of the crackers and place them on top of the green beans and soup mix.
- Sprinkle half of the cheese on top of the green beans, soup mix, and crackers.
- Add half of your French fried onions over the top of the green beans, soup mix, crackers, and cheese.
- Repeat using the rest of the ingredients.
- Cover with aluminum foil and place into the oven to bake for 45-60 minutes.
- Once done, uncover, serve, and enjoy! For a crispy top, place it back into the oven uncovered for 2-3 minutes under the broiler. Be careful not to burn your French fried onions!
