Ingredients:
2 cups elbow macaroni
2 cups heavy cream
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt (or 1 chicken bouillon cube)
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
Instructions:
1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook until al dente, according to the package instructions.
2. While the macaroni is cooking, pour the heavy cream into a saucepan and heat over medium-low heat until it begins to steam.
3. Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese to the cream, stirring continuously until it’s fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
4. Season the cheese sauce with salt, white pepper, and paprika. Stir until well combined.
5. Once the macaroni is cooked, drain it half way and return it to the pot.
6. Pour the cheese sauce over the cooked macaroni and stir until it’s completely coated.
7. Serve immediately while it’s hot and enjoy!
Notes to Make It Better:
Be sure to stir the cheese sauce constantly while adding the cheese to prevent it from burning or sticking to the pan.
For added flavor, you can mix in cooked bacon bits, sautéed onions, or peas.
Top with extra shredded cheese and put under the broiler for a minute or two for a cheesy crust, if desired.
