Copycat Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing Recipe

Description: If you love the creamy, savory taste of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing, then you’re in for a treat. Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 0 minutes Inactive Time: 2 hours (for chilling) Servings: 16

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup mayonnaise

  • 1 cup buttermilk or natural Filmjolk

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp dried parsley

  • A pinch of dried thyme

  • A pinch of citric acid

  • 1 tsp msg

  • 1/4 tsp xanthan gum (to thicken)

Instructions:

1. Place all the ingredients into your blender.

2. Blend on medium speed for 1-2 minutes until all ingredients are mixed thoroughly, and the dressing is smooth and creamy.

3. Transfer the dressing to an airtight container.

4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. This allows all the flavors to meld together and the dressing to thicken.

Notes:

  • If you prefer a thicker consistency, you can add an additional 1/8 tsp of xanthan gum.

  • Using fresh herbs can bring an added depth of flavor. If using fresh, you’ll want to triple the amount.

  • The MSG is optional, but it brings that extra tang and umami flavor that the original Hidden Valley recipe is known for.
