Copycat Krystal's Cheese Burgers
Ingredients
- 1 Lb Ground Beef
- 1 pack of slider buns
- 1/2 large onion, peeled & minced
- 8 slices of cheddar cheese, cut into proportionate sizes for the burgers
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 16 burger pickles
- ketchup
- mustard
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to broil at 400f top heat.
- Peel and mince your onion very small.
- Add it to a skillet and cook until just translucent. We’re not frying them or adding color. We’re just sweating them a bit to get the raw taste out.
- Line a cooking sheet with aluminum foil and press the ground beef down into the tray creating a large meat sheet.
- Season with seasonings evenly across the meat sheet.
- Place into the oven and cook for about 5-10 minutes.
- Slice your cheese, remove your onions from the heat and slice your bread forming buns.
- Once meat is done, take it out of the oven and cut into even square burger patties. Once for each bun.
- Place the square burger patties on the bread. Top with cheese, onion, mustard and ketchup. Close the tops and serve.
- These go perfect with French fries or my old fashioned homemade onion rings.
- Serve and enjoy!
