Copycat Krystal's Cheese Burgers

Copycat Krystal's Cheese Burgers are a type of cheeseburger that are said to be similar in taste and style to those served by the fast food chain Krystal. These burgers typically feature small, square patties made from ground beef, topped with cheese and served on small, soft buns. They may also include toppings such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, and mustard or mayonnaise. These burgers are known for their distinctive flavor and are often praised for their juicy, savory taste and satisfyingly crunchy texture.
Prep time: 20 MinCook time: 15 MinTotal time: 35 Min

Ingredients

  • 1 Lb Ground Beef
  • 1 pack of slider buns
  • 1/2 large onion, peeled & minced
  • 8 slices of cheddar cheese, cut into proportionate sizes for the burgers
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 16 burger pickles
  • ketchup
  • mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to broil at 400f top heat.
  2. Peel and mince your onion very small.
  3. Add it to a skillet and cook until just translucent. We’re not frying them or adding color. We’re just sweating them a bit to get the raw taste out.
  4. Line a cooking sheet with aluminum foil and press the ground beef down into the tray creating a large meat sheet.
  5. Season with seasonings evenly across the meat sheet.
  6. Place into the oven and cook for about 5-10 minutes.
  7. Slice your cheese, remove your onions from the heat and slice your bread forming buns.
  8. Once meat is done, take it out of the oven and cut into even square burger patties. Once for each bun.
  9. Place the square burger patties on the bread. Top with cheese, onion, mustard and ketchup. Close the tops and serve.
  10. These go perfect with French fries or my old fashioned homemade onion rings.
  11. Serve and enjoy!
