A traditional southern dish that can be eaten as an appetizer, a snack, or a dinner is the country chicken-fried steak fingers. In this recipe, which is a variation on the classic chicken-fried steak recipe, delicate, crispy steak fingers are combined with a deliciously seasoned batter. Large pieces of cube steak or minute steak cut into chicken finger-sized pieces, self-rising flour, garlic salt, parsley, black pepper, cayenne pepper, milk, and a large egg are all required for the dish. Before being cooked in oil till golden brown and crispy, the steak fingers are first coated in the seasoned flour, then dredged in a wet mixture of milk and egg and then again dredged in the seasoned flour. The meal can be accompanied with mashed potatoes and any kind of gravy.
